How to get Highlighted
Thanks for your interest in being reviewed / highlighted on the All the Photographers Blog.
Take a moment to take a look at the blog and see how the reviews have gone in the past.
The welcome post describes the purpose of the project a bit more.
This page/post will...
- Will tell you a bit more about ATP-blog.
- It will also ask for written permission to review you and use your pictures.
- Tell you how we make the blog.
- It will also request for you to fill out a short survey and perhaps write a few words of introduction.
Summary of ATP Blog:
- We are highlighting photographers from all around the word in every field who operate on different levels of proficiency.
- We're doing this because there is some fantastic talent out there that most people don't know about.
- Because everyone loves looking at new and unique photography.
- Non-Photographers searching for a great photographer and aspiring photographers looking to learn from those who have gone before.
The site is a jumping off point. (A short recap of the photographer's work. With links to more of what the photographer has done on their own websites.)
How it's done.
We're keeping the photographer highlights simple.
Look through them
- 1. A short survey (which i'll attach to the end of the email)
- 2. Perhaps a quick word by the photographer (or anyone)
- 3. Most importantly pictures to show off the work
Permission
For every photographer review post we do we want express written permission.
Something to the effect of: "All the Photographers has my permission (x) to use my pictures in their blog post recap of my work."
I know it's a given since it's a highlight of your work with you helping to make it happen with your survey, but we're just being safe since we'll be dealing with thousands of photographers.
The Pictures
It is the job of the several authors of ATP Blog to quickly put the posts together.
Which means putting the pictures into the blog.
(They are hosted in unlisted SmugMug galleries if this is of interest to you, for stability, speed and convenience. If you're familiar with SmugMug the galleries will be unlisted, non-printable, non rt clickable, etc. pretty much just a place where we can use them for the blog.)
Please attach a zip file of 40-60 pictures to be used on the blog post
Sometimes none of that is an option and if you'd like to send us a group of your favorites. More than enough for us to search through and still do the job of actually highlighting the favorites. Perhaps creating a best of gallery on site is a project you'd like to work on to get things moving. We've dealt with this a lot if you have questions let us know.
Pic-Specs
We aim for 600px
They most certainly can be watermarked.
Just as in almost any blog, people could possibly grab pictures from the site.
Of course we have posted a notice to discourage this and telling people it's naughty.
But we want to tell you now and give fair warning there isn't rt click protection on this blog.
Benefits
- We hope that this highlighting will drive more traffic to your site.
- We have seen a lot of buzz and comments, specially by the photographers friends and family.
- We anticipate that the site will be used to do searches. People can do searches by state/country and type of photography. They can also search by keywords.
- We expect the site will connect those looking for a good photographer with good photographers.
- Many potential clients will be viewing the site.
- Many other photographers will also visit to learn from eachother and find new inspirations.
- We believe highly in helping each other out in the photography community.
- It also will serve as a way to improve your search rankings as we will be putting your links on the post.
- Most all of these posts quickly find their way into Google (and other) searches quite quickly.
For us: we will have content for the blog... which makes us happy.
