Growing up, once I realized I wanted to take photos, I had to learn how film worked. When the digital world emerged, I couldn't have been more excited. I couldn't run out of film and I could immediately view the photos I had taken. When I was in high school, I was introduced to a little program called Photoshop. I couldn't believe the endless possiblities Photoshop had to offer. It was then that being a photographer as a career crossed my mind and it became more than just a hobby.
I have always been obsessed with taking photos. I have also always been obsessed with weddings. So what better than to become a wedding and portrait photographer. In 2010, Amber Shaw Photography was established. I was recently voted Best Photographer in the Best of Utah Valley 2011. I plan to be a household name when it comes to wedding and fashion photography.
My style is modern but traditional. Cutting edge but vintage. Chic but daring. I'm obsessed with creating unique photographs. Whatever your personal style and personality, I can capture it.

I am an Italy based photographer interested in portraiture, fine art and –quite consequently- fashion photography. I still don’t know why I bought my first Reflex Camera a few years ago, but I'm glad I did. From that point onwards, photography became
not just a great passion and a job, but also the main focus of my life.
Much of my work reflects a strong connection with dance. That is obviously present in stage performing shoots, but also it is possible to find a trace of it in my personal artwork, because I have studied ballet from the age of 7 and have continued to do so throughout my life. Photographing dance and dancers is challenging(just a few are able to catch the right thing at the right moment), but I find that it comes naturally and pleasurably to me. Actually, I really started taking photos only after an accident that prevented me from dancing for a while. For this very reason, I made my first serious attempts to portray some of my friends while they were performing and –not so much later- also when they weren’t(developing an aptitude for more creative artistic portraits).
In addition to ballet and to my personal artwork, I gain pleasure and have extensive experience photographing all aspects of the performing arts, including film stills, drama and music. I think this came from my confidence with both stage and artists as I am still dancing and sometimes I also go on stage.

I was born and raised in Utah and as I child I was always wondering off looking for new ways of seeing the world around me. My parents encouraged my adventurous personality by engaging me in my surroundings and bringing me to various destinations through the country. During school I had developed a much more in depth understanding of the importance of photography and art in general. My first photography teacher had shown me the true meaning of capturing, documenting and sharing the art of photography. While often being a heavy critic on my own work I still strive to find perfection in all of my photographs. I was published in "The Freefall Review" A quarterly magazine based out of California that encouraged the starving artists from around the country to share their passions with the world. I currently am studying photo journalism in an effort to be placed in situations that allows me to shed light on controversial issues and events.
While I still reside in Salt Lake City I am often on the road looking for those unique photographs of the way life moves around us. I am in the process of working on my first book that will highlight businesses throughout my travels. The book is scheduled to be released within the next 2-4 years as I continue capturing various people and events.

I haven’t always been a “photographer”, in the traditional sense of the word. But what’s the definition of a “photographer” anyway? For years, in my case, it was driving friends and family crazy while I tried to snap away at them. Truthfully though, my love for photography came full circle when my first child was born. With every picture I took of him, I saw his silliness, energy, and spirit shine through, memories brought to life with my lens that I will treasure forever. That’s when this unorthodox plan to start my business first started to take hold; I wanted to provide others with that same close-to-the-heart experience. So what was I doing BEFORE photography became my my obsession? A few things, really. I spent 11 years in the corporate world working at a Fortune 50 company, a tiny startup, and a mid-sized nationwide company – hence, my extreme dedication to customer service and smooth operations. At some point in there, I put my other hobby, graphic design, to work and started freelancing. Freelancing is what put my business goals on the map and helped me determine how to work with clients with creative visions. As it turns out, advanced graphic design experience, especially with Photoshop, really lends itself well to professional photography. When my second child was born, I took the huge leap from hobbyist to professional and left my day job to focus full time on creating a successful business and a career that I loved. I feel so very fortunate to be excited to go to work every day. Photo sessions are not work for me…they are play time. I meet a gorgeous set of blue eyes, or a pair of rosy, chubby cheeks and I can’t wait to photograph them. I love meeting new people and giving back to my community. As I continue to challenge my own creativity and business savvy, I look forward to my business continuing to grow.

Hey Hey hey!! I’m Charlotte -or Char as my bff's call me! I am a 40 year old stay at home mom to Sam (11) and Wes (9). Although I am a full-time photographer - I am also a full time cook, housekeeper, teacher, nurse, chauffeur, counselor.... you know the rest!! I love my boys... all of them, including my dear husband of 13 years, Scott. I love our family vacations, the color pink, investigative news shows, anything with barbecue sauce on it, chocolate chip cookies and my Yellow Box flip-flops! And yep... I do have a love for photography. I finished high school in 1987 at the age of 16 and went straight off to college. I have a degree in Marketing, which has really helped my business grow. I believe "less is best" and to keep my business honest! I started this business out of a desire to just get better photos of my first born son. I knew what I wanted, but no one else seemed to. Word spread that I was interested in making this hobby a business and it took of from there!! I have never advertised nor do I set up booths at local shows. I am strictly word of mouth. I believe your reputation is the only thing you need. If you do not take care of your clients... someone else will. I think honesty is the best policy - so if I make a mistake- I deal with it head-on. I believe in keeping your business legal and yes, paying your taxes. I love, love, love meeting people - so photography is THE best way to make new friends. I specialize in Newborns through their first year, High School Seniors and Weddings. I know I cannot be everything to everybody - so specializing in these three areas was the only way to be successful. I am constantly soaking up information, information, information. A good seminar is so worth the investment - And I love meeting up with my photog friends!
That's pretty much me!! Thanks for reading!

So hello
I am 21 years old, soon to be 22 in the next month of July. Right at this moment in time, I am currently traveling around Australia. I left Britain, the end of October 2010, so nearly 9 months
and I must say I have had the time of my life and don't want it to end,but hey it has to end sometime. Sadly, my time here is drawing to a close, I have a month left and am still in progress of working out what I want to do with it. I have seen a lot of the country (mostly east coast) and have to say Melbourne stole my heart, the atmosphere, the people.. Just the whole feel of the city devoured me of all sins
I truly love it and wish I could relocate there. I am thinking I want to go back there in a few weeks or so to stay with some brilliant friends I made while there from 5 months of being there.
Basically, I love travelling and seeing every different culture and surrounding. I have been to many places but my travelling experience really starts here. We have to start somewhere right? and from being here, I know what I want to do with my life. Be around people in different countries around the world with my camera by my side with not a care in the world, waiting for another adventure to come skipping around the corner.
My love for photography and all things wonderful came around when I was about 14 or 15,when I truly started to realise that Photography was a massive passion and I wanted to pursue my career in this field. I am a massive art fan. Anything arty, I appreciate, whether its illustration, painting, sketching, drawing, sculpture, Film, Music... Life...... The world is my ever growing dreamland, I dream in art and the way my brain see's things.
What really drive's my life though, are gods creations= human life. Human beings. They are my main passion. Portraiture is my favourite`.. I enjoy being around all types of different people. I find human life fascinating
I am planning to get my a little tattoo 'Redefine your Reality' = Me... that's how I think. Nothing is impossible. The brain is an inspiring place to be
I'm a daydreamer.
I adore music, music takes me into my own little world. Anything is possible when i'm listening to music, whether it's from my ipod or live on a stage.
I adore dogs. Monty, my black lab back in Scotland is the most beautiful dog you will ever lay eyes on. Hes a wonder.
I adore my whole family. They are the best family a human being could ask for, really, you only know this much of it. They have done so much for me and for that, I am intensely grateful.
I adore turtles, they make me happy. I keep dreaming of my flying on one (please don't ask me why)
I adore owls, they are beautiful eerie creatures.
I adore natural light, I always encourage the use of natural light, I love lens flares.
Angel rays ( when the light flares down from the clouds, almost like a magical creature or being is standing beneath waiting to be found) ,
I love my cheese, every kind ![]()
Making people happy, hugs, laughing.
You get the gist. I just hope this all shows in my work. It's people like you that keep me going. Seeing the joy and appreciation in peoples eyes when I show them my shots is by far the best feeling in the world. I can never help but shed a tear seeing their faces and receiving the warm greeting of a hug from them.

I've been taking pictures for as long as I can remember! I got my first SLR camera in 7th grade and fell in love with it {i still own it and shoot with it from time to time} there is something about film that you will never be able to replace with digital. My favorite part about photography is being able to capture things from my point of view and show people that there is beauty in every thing around us.I shot my first wedding in 2006 but didn't go into business until 2009. My goal as a photographer is to shoot from my heart and make every client feel comfortable and beautiful! I love getting to know my clients on a personal level so that I can create images and memories who they are, and not who I think they should be.
I love being a wedding photographer! Spending one of the most important days with my clients and capturing their love for each other is one of the most amazing things to me! I love getting caught up in the moment and being able to capture those moments in images that will be cherished forever.

I am a 20 year old University student from Leicester, UK and started off when I was 16 photographing weddings with my Dad. Since then, I have gained my own reputation and clients and continue to do so. I love journalist photography - those photographs where you just had to be at the right place at the right time, Harry Benson being one of those photographers that I truly admire. People would be my favourite to photograph over scenery and nature because I love how different everyone looks! From the old to the young, rich to the poor - I will never get bored of it. However, since getting my Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro Lens, I have found a growing love for all things natural and scenic.
I have travelled a fair amount for someone my age, climbed the 4 highest mountains in the UK and Ireland, Ben Nevis in Scotland being the most enjoyable, but have only been to the states once where I went to Texas for a month which was an incredible experience
At University, I am studying an art and craft course which I thoroughly enjoy, but hope one day to be a teacher or, of course, a full time photographer.

I started photography as a hobby when I was 15 and grew to love it. All through high school I was determined on being a professional photographer. After many photo shoots for my friends and family, I was able to have a website made for all my work. In 2009, I decided photography was just a hobby rather than a career. I changed my major at UVU to Deaf Studies, where I studied signed language for 4 years. Then I decided that wasn't for me either. So now I'm settled on Graphic Design and Web Development, with photography still a major hobby. I still take pictures for any one who needs them, just at a very low cost, because I'm not trying to make a living off of it. I don't charge little because I'm not good at what I do, but because honestly I just love doing it, and would like to be paid just a little for my time that would have normally been spent at work. I've recently gotten into creative concepts with my brother Clint, Louish Pixel, and strobism. I still prefer natural light though. Now that I'm 20, Ive decided to start shooting weddings. Ive been very blessed with my talent and the opportunities that have come with it. I feel very special to be featured on All The Photographer's blog! I just love photography and post production! There's not much else to say!

Like many, I've always adored photography and grew up with a point and shoot almost always tucked in my pocket or bag. It just never crossed my mind to learn the techniques or even do it as a part time job. It was one of those things to me, that seemed out of my reach. I was constantly searching through photographer's sites and my husband noticed it. He surprised me with a DSLR for my birthday 3 days after my first son was born and told me it was time for me to be able to learn! Almost a year later, I became intrigued with film photography; the look, process, post-process, etc... and jumped in head first and have been shooting pretty much 100% film since March and have LOVED it. My favorite is the fact that photography in general is a never ending journey of learning and progressing!

It is an honor to be highlighted on you website, because some of my very favorite photographers have been featured here in the past. I have loved photography since I was just a little girl, but it wasn’t until I had a family of my own that my opportunities to begin shooting and experimenting with photography became more serious. Now that my six children are mostly grown, with the youngest being 14, I have more time to pursue things that I really love to do in addition to being a mom, and photography is it! My family is relieved beyond measure, since I no longer have my camera stuck in their face for every event that they are involved in. I am able to get my photography fix on other people now!
When I was young, my family did a lot of traveling overseas. My mother trusted me enough with her camera that I became the designated photographer on many of our trips. On one occasion, when I was about 9 or 10, a plane we were flying in over Africa was asked to delay landing for some unknown reason. To pass the time, the pilot flew the plane around the top of Mount Kilimanjaro a couple of times, and my mother handed over the camera for me to start shooting. I took an entire roll of images through the plane’s window and they came out beautifully. To this day, one of those photos is enlarged and framed in my parents home. Ever since that experience, I have always felt like I was capable of taking a pretty good picture!
I enjoy all kinds of photography, but focusing on individuals and couples is my favorite thing to do. That’s why I love to shoot wedding photography, as well as high school seniors. They are by far the most fun to be with. They have to many interesting things to talk about and such big dreams to share.
I have enjoyed creating my business, and am continually trying to learn all that I can to improve my skills. I prefer not to get locked into one kind of style, but I tend to be drawn to rich and vibrant colors, and I absolutely love a slightly over-processed look to my editing. If you are ever in Salt Lake City and are looking for a photographer, look me up and let’s go have some fun!

Jake has been filled with an insatiable need to create for as long as he can remember, whether it was a drawing, building a fort, or even writing stand-up comedy. The photography bug was planted in the mid-nineties during a simple Introduction to Photography course. The dark room, the camera, the chemicals all screamed out with possibilities and the next year when Layton High School added a computer lab, complete with the extraordinarily advanced Adobe Photoshop (version 2.5) a long term love-affair was set. As photography meandered it’s way into the digital age the format became increasingly custom-tailored to Jake’s love of instant gratification and attention-deficit tendencies.
Purchasing his first digital SLR camera in 2002 began the transformation of photography from a casual hobby into a bit of an obsession.

Short Bio - Word from the Photographer
I have 3 grown kids - now in the their 20's - so I know how quickly time passes, and how important it is to have the special moments recorded. My parents gave me my first 35 mm camera when I graduated high school, and I think I must have spent every extra penny I had after that on film and developing. I have boxes and boxes of photos of my kids as babies and toddlers, and too many photo books to even count. So, I guess I've been "into" photography for quite a while. I got my first DSLR - a Canon 20D - about 7 years ago. I would subscribe to all of the photography magazines, and read every book I could get my hands on. But while my kids were still growing up I never found the "right time" to really pursue my passion for photography. Still, I was always with my camera, taking pictures all the time. Suddenly, though, it seemed my kids were grown, and I reached a real point of finally having the time to fully pursue my dreams. So despite some anxiety - I started classes to learn my camera better... and from there it just blossomed. Now I am shooting with a Canon 7D, have more lenses and equipment than I could ever use, and rarely will you catch me without my camera. I'm sure some of that could also be from my extreme love of camera purses... I think I have them all!! When I got serious about starting a photography business, I had to do it all by the rules: taxes, licensing, logo, branding...even making sure I didn't break any copyright rules with the music I play on my website!
Lifestyle would be the best way to describe my photography style. I'm not crazy about the studio-look photographs, although I do have a studio in my home with backdrops and lighting - the works. I do realize there is a need and desire for the traditional, but it's not where my heart is nudged the most. My favorite photos are always the ones of the special moments... the photos that you almost feel you need to look away from, as if you are intruding on a special moment. Those are the photos that I find in the frames in my house, and the ones that my kids always pick as their favorites of themselves and each other from growing up. I love to capture moments that show more than just a picture, but rather tell a story...The ones that evoke emotion and make you want to keep looking over and over again. My heart melts with every newborn photography shoot that I am blessed enough to do. I fall in love with every new baby! And with every photo shoot - whether it's a family, business, maternity, etc. - I feel I come away with a new friend. That's the best part of the job - meeting the people, getting to know them and hopefully capturing their moments that will last for a lifetime. It is truly a blessing to get to do what I'm doing -- and I have been blessed in return meeting so many wonderful people.
