Short Bio - I am a photographer, I always been in one way or another. I am the girl that had a camera in my purse everywhere she went. My friends stopped taking photos because they knew I would. I always dreamed of being a photographer, but it was just that, a dream. Something I never thought could be a reality. Until one day my husband David asked me "What do you have to lose?" I thought long and hard about that, I didn't have much to lose, but had everything to gain. Now I am doing what I love and living out my passion.
When I am shooting I see the world differently through my camera. I get an indescribable feeling inside, I come alive. There is something about capturing ordinary things through my lens and making them beautiful. It is my art.
Eric Smyklo | Wedding Photography
The Quick Survey
- Name / Business Name: Eric Smyklo / Eric Smyklo Photography
- Located in: Erie, Pennsylvania
- Started: 2005
- Status: Full Time Wedding Studio
- Types of Photography: Wedding photography is our focus but we do venture into fine art photography (landscapes, urban, etc.) and some custom portrait jobs. We feel that by primarily focusing on weddings we can provide our clients a better product by not exhausting energy into so many different types of photography.
- Primary Camera / Favorite Lens: Nikon D700. Favorite Lens?! Thats a hard one! I would have to say my wide angle (12-24) is still my favorite lens. It fits my style and allows me to bring all my dramatic ideas to a reality. But then again, I can't pass up my 50mm for detail shots, and 70-200 for amazing portraits!
- Interesting Personal Fact: I subscribe to Brides magazine.

Short Bio: Eric's interest in photography started in high school and later turned into a BFA degree (focus on photography) from Penn State University. Working for some local photographers after graduating, he photographed friends' weddings on the side and ended up enjoying it a lot more than he anticipated. His name spread via word-of-mouth and now books up to 45 weddings in a given season. He strives to keep the wedding day fun and enjoyable for everyone involved and stays true to his candid but dramatic style he is known for. His hard work and endless time put into post-processing (aka, hours spent in Lightroom and Photoshop) really pays off with how continually satisfied his clients are with their final images. He works along side his talented fiancé who is always there to hold a light or get the shots that count. Eric looks forward to creating great memories in many weddings for years to come.

- Career Highlights:
- Being named as a Featured Photographer in the London, UK e-magazine, Remedy. I love what the magazine was created around and the talented professionals who contribute to it. I was so honored! I wrote about it here on my blog: http://www.kristenweaverblog.com/fashion/remedy-magazine-london/ and they have also used much of what I wrote on their Testimonials page on their website: http://www.remedymag.co.uk/ (click Testimonies)
- Starting the Photography Non-Profit fund raising event, Images for a Cure, in October 2009. From The Breast Cancer Research Foundation's website: "Photographer, Kristen Weaver, wished to make her ideal a reality--to positively affect change in the world. She decided to make this happen with an inspiring fundraiser that would include her fellow photographers joining together to raise funds for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. And so, Images for the Cure was born. Initially, the goal set by Kristen for Images For A Cure was to raise $5,000. By the end of the registration period for photographers, Kristen reviewed the statistics and realized that she would more than double her goal--239 Images for a Cure photographers, from 44 states and from 3 countries had signed up! And when the big day was over, all Kristen's efforts were rewarded with an astonishing $12,750 raised for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation!"

Short Bio - Word from the Photographer
If you ask some of my fans, I'm a wedding photographer based out of Orlando, FL. If you ask others, I'm an internationally published fashion photographer. Somewhere in the middle, you may hear that I'm a philanthropist, mentor, friend and sister. I wear a lot of hats, but my heart is in photography. I love fashion (I always say, 'those who can't, take pictures of those who can!') and I love romance. I'm a sucker for cool details and amazing designers like Karl Lagerfeld, Lanvin, Alexander McQueen and Christian Lacroix. I also have a not-so-subtle obsession for Jimmy Choo and Louboutin. Combining some serious fashion with a beautiful romance is just about as perfect a wedding day as I could imagine!

A Word From the Photographer:
You can read more about how I got into photography on a post I wrote here:
I keep very busy doing weddings and enjoy doing them a lot.
One of my big passions is in traveling and I'm lucky that weddings take me all over the country.
I take a lot of travel pictures but will need to wait until later down the road to find time to do much with them.
I feel very thankful that I am able to make a good living doing full time the thing I love to do.
I love that it means helping people and providing a valuable service.
I try to make my blog a great place to come and learn things about photography and see what I'm up to in my own photography.
Enjoy the pictures, you find lots more on the site. Check out the launch page with links to over 15 sites to see my work (and projects) and learn more about me.
