Short Bio -

I haven’t always been a “photographer”, in the traditional sense of the word. But what’s the definition of a “photographer” anyway?  For years, in my case, it was driving friends and family crazy while I tried to snap away at them. Truthfully though, my love for photography came full circle when my first child was born.  With every picture I took of him, I saw his silliness, energy, and spirit shine through, memories brought to life with my lens that I will treasure forever. That’s when this unorthodox plan to start my business first started to take hold; I wanted to provide others with that same close-to-the-heart experience. So what was I doing BEFORE photography became my my obsession? A few things, really. I spent 11 years in the corporate world working at a Fortune 50 company, a tiny startup, and a mid-sized nationwide company – hence, my extreme dedication to customer service and smooth operations.  At some point in there, I put my other hobby, graphic design, to work and started freelancing. Freelancing is what put my business goals on the map and helped me determine how to work with clients with creative visions.  As it turns out, advanced graphic design experience, especially with Photoshop, really lends itself well to professional photography. When my second child was born, I took the huge leap from hobbyist to professional and left my day job to focus full time on creating a successful business and a career that I loved. I feel so very fortunate to be excited to go to work every day. Photo sessions are not work for me…they are play time.  I meet a gorgeous set of blue eyes, or a pair of rosy, chubby cheeks and I can’t wait to photograph them. I love meeting new people and giving back to my community. As I continue to challenge my own creativity and business savvy, I look forward to my business continuing to grow.

Short Bio: I got my first camera in 7th grade, circa 1977, not really mine, just a vacation lend from my Dad.  He set up a darkroom in our only bathroom and took so many pictures of me that they fill 11 albums.
I loved yearbook staff so much in high school that I chose to study and graduate from BYU with a BFA in photography and minor in communications.  My first job was at the Provo Daily Herald with the amazing Jason Olson and Trent Nelson.  I worked part-time after our first child, then freelanced, then had three children, then interned with the Deseret News during the 2002 Olympics.
My rekindling of my wedding photography business started when I traded in my Nikon f4 for a Nikon D70 in 2004.  The digital bug bit me and here I am.  I shoot families, weddings and some public relations work.  I would love to shoot 50 weddings a year, but for now. I shoot less than 10, with about that many other clients as well.
My kids have busy social lives filled with friends, creek walking and music and sports.  My husband is a web designer who loves his job, family and church.
