Short Bio - Word from the Photographer

I have been in love with photography since the first time I shot a roll of tri-x 400 and developed it (then I became an ilford girl) in the darkroom. The process of creating was something I was born to do. I loved going out with friends and taking beautiful, fun, funky photos of them. As a wedding photographer I have gotten to experience all of my favorite things: Photography, people, and love, all in one place! I find myself constantly wanting to capture people and their unique personalities which is why I think I could never get tired of the excitement that comes with starting a new life and weddings. I have my degree in Photography and Media from CalARTS which was such an amazing experience and has really helped me see the fine art aspect in shooting portraits and real life. all-in-all I feel so blessed to constantly be meeting new people and getting to collaborate with them to create awesome photos and capture their unique moments :)

Short Bio:

"Being passionate about photography is in my nature. I have always had a fascination with art and imagery. As a teen, I would spend my money on magazines, and every square inch of my room was covered like wallpaper with ads that provoked specific emotions. I see passion, drama, truth and beauty in every moment. I cannot help but translate that into my work. As a photographer, my goal is to create stunning photos. I find a sense of fulfillment in this art that I don't find anywhere else. All of my passions (like music and my family) influence and affect my photographs. I am a hopeless romantic with a flare for style and glamour. I'm relaxed and fun, and I tend to babble if I'm excited or nervous :) You should know: photography is not my "job". It is my obsession, I'm intoxicated by it. "

A Word From Jarvie

I didn't do the Highlighting post on Brooke but I wanted to say a couple words.
I was introduced to Brooke's photography through a couple of good friends.
Seems like I've had a lot of interns and friends in love with her work.
I find it funny that I feel important because I actually know her, they think I'm cooler because I do.
Truth is I only met her once at my birthday party. But I'll take what I can get.

Meet The Photographer Event

Recently I came up with this rocking idea to highlight well known photographers in a fun and friendly fashion.
Since a lot of people know about her and yet a lot of people don't actually know her personally, we should do an event that solves this.
We'll meet up and start a new Meet the Photographer event
She'll be the first photographer: This Monday 7pm

So if you'd like to meet Brooke in person and know more about her and her photography make your way on over to Lehi, Utah on Monday.

I wrote about it here on my blog: http://www.kristenweaverblog.com/fashion/remedy-magazine-london/ and they have also used much of what I wrote on their Testimonials page on their website: http://www.remedymag.co.uk/ (click Testimonies)
    • Starting the Photography Non-Profit fund raising event, Images for a Cure, in October 2009. From The Breast Cancer Research Foundation's website: "Photographer, Kristen Weaver, wished to make her ideal a reality--to positively affect change in the world. She decided to make this happen with an inspiring fundraiser that would include her fellow photographers joining together to raise funds for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. And so, Images for the Cure was born. Initially, the goal set by Kristen for Images For A Cure was to raise $5,000. By the end of the registration period for photographers, Kristen reviewed the statistics and realized that she would more than double her goal--239 Images for a Cure photographers, from 44 states and from 3 countries had signed up! And when the big day was over, all Kristen's efforts were rewarded with an astonishing $12,750 raised for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation!"

If you ask some of my fans, I'm a wedding photographer based out of Orlando, FL. If you ask others, I'm an internationally published fashion photographer. Somewhere in the middle, you may hear that I'm a philanthropist, mentor, friend and sister. I wear a lot of hats, but my heart is in photography. I love fashion (I always say, 'those who can't, take pictures of those who can!') and I love romance. I'm a sucker for cool details and amazing designers like Karl Lagerfeld, Lanvin, Alexander McQueen and Christian Lacroix. I also have a not-so-subtle obsession for Jimmy Choo and Louboutin. Combining some serious fashion with a beautiful romance is just about as perfect a wedding day as I could imagine!

I am a big dork. I like to make faces and weird noises at random times. I am pretty up front and open and those who know me can pretty much tell you that if you ask me something, I will tell you the truth.  I have no shame and tend to blog personal things that many may not have even thought of knowing...but this is who I am.  I can be random, I like..no LOVE ice cream and will take it any day of the week in any weather.  I love photographing people because it allows me to see inside their lives for a little bit and really makes me appreciate the love and spirit for life even more. I consider myself really lucky and really blessed.

In a nutshell, I take photos. I have been shooting since I was a teenager and it dawned on me a decade later that it would be in my best interest to become a photographer.  I am a hopeless romantic, I like to laugh, and I could listen to the "Amelie" soundtrack over and over again.  I am also a force to be reckon with.

Short Bio - Word from the Photographer

I’ve always loved art and creating, and many times over the years I’ve sat down with pencil and pad in hand to sketch something that inspired me, but just couldn't get it "just right". I had images in my mind, a world to explore and lives to highlight, but it wasn't until I picked up a camera when my first child was born that I found my voice. Photography, and in particular, photography of people, gives my thoughts and visions an outlet. It expresses my interest in the world in my own way, and hopefully inspires others to see life as I do for a moment. Photography strips away the world around us, all other senses are left behind and all that is left is the soul, ready and willing to shine. That alone makes it the most powerful medium I know. I hope my journey with the camera conveys the story I intend, that life is precious and these moments are gone in the blink of an eye. The photographs I’ve taken of my children are what I holds dearest to my heart.

Short word from the Photographer

My name is Tara Winsor. I started taking pictures back in High School.
My dad gave me his film DSLR and I treasured that thing. I learned how
to develop photos in a dark room, and use enlargers. I spent as much
time as I could in the dark rooms. After I graduated, I went to go to
college to get a degree in Art. I ended up getting married and putting
my husband through school. Now that he has been done, I have been
trying to dive into photography again. And especially since we have
out little boy, I want as many pictures as I can get of him.
I specialize in taking photos of families, high school seniors, and
children. I also do Weddings on the side. I love the way a families
eyes light up when they see their pictures. And they can remember what
was going on in the photo. It makes my day.

Stacy Young – Weddings

A Word from the Reviewer

Doing reviews is sometimes very hard.
It's picking a select group from a vast ocean of pictures that is tasking.

Stacy is a prolific photographer who posts a lot of pictures on her blog.
I was only able to go through her pictures SINCE AUGUST.
So accordingly, what you're seeing is a representation of her pictures only in the last 4 months

Though perhaps a post representing her whole body of work could be more visually stunning.
(And harder to decide)
I believe knowing it's only 4 months of work makes this review pretty impressive.
Obviously you'll want to follow her links and see more of her work.

When going through her pictures i found myself really looking forward to the next set of wedding detail pictures.
Perhaps because I don't do as many detail shots as Stacy is what made me realize how wonderful they can be.
But I think we can dub Stacy Young as the Wedding Details Queen.
At the end of the post I have tacked on an additional dozen details shots I happened to like (last 4 months)

Word from the Photographer

The reason why I love being a portrait & wedding photographer is because I strongly believe that everyone is beautiful. Each person has something unique and incredible to offer to the world. Whether it's an outward feature like their eyes or smile, a skill of excelling in their field, a talent of laughing, the ability to be in love and be loved in return, I seek to find their beauty and show it through my images. That makes every job unique and every day a new experience.

For as long as I can remember I have been interested in photography but never had the time or the resources to really get into it. It wasn’t until I had an unfortunate injury at work that I took time to seriously look at pursuing my passion for the art. I knew loved it before but wow!
I love life and everything it as to offer. The camera has given me a way to share my vision of the world and the great people in it.

Short Bio (Word from photographer)

I'm primarily a people photographer.
I used to shoot flowers and landscapes and architecture, but I find that the most fulfilling work for me is capturing people's inner and outer beauty and allowing others to see and appreciate them.
My Two Cents
David Terry or (Dwterry) is very well known in some circles... as the guy who everyone wonders how he gets everything done that he gets done.
He gets his pictures done and online faster than many of us can even consider uploading them
He posts to his blog, smugmug, facebook, flickr and who knows what else.
He's also known as the person to turn to when you need some feedback or comments on something.
It would be interesting to know how many comments he's left on people's pictures in his lifetime.
It's probably far more comments than most people have taken pictures or a greater quantity than some people have even seen pictures.
He knows almost all my photographer friends and does a better job at keeping track of them than I do.
And yet he has a full time job and has raised several kids and goes to tons of Photography events and is very open to helping and teaching.
In short: He's an inspiration to many!
