Short Bio -

I was born and raised in Utah and as I child I was always wondering off looking for new ways of seeing the world around me. My parents encouraged my adventurous personality by engaging me in my surroundings and bringing me to various destinations through the country. During school I had developed a much more in depth understanding of the importance of photography and art in general. My first photography teacher had shown me the true meaning of capturing, documenting and sharing the art of photography. While often being a heavy critic on my own work I still strive to find perfection in all of my photographs. I was published in "The Freefall Review" A quarterly magazine based out of California that encouraged the starving artists from around the country to share their passions with the world. I currently am studying photo journalism in an effort to be placed in situations that allows me to shed light on controversial issues and events.

While I still reside in Salt Lake City I am often on the road looking for those unique photographs of the way life moves around us. I am in the process of working on my first book that will highlight businesses throughout my travels. The book is scheduled to be released within the next 2-4 years as I continue capturing various people and events.

My name is Ashlee, I have full time desk job, I am a wife, and I have a 2 year old lab that has more energy then any 2 year old child I've ever met!

I've been taking pictures for as long as I can remember! I got my first SLR camera in 7th grade and fell in love with it {i still own it and shoot with it from time to time} there is something about film that you will never be able to replace with digital. My favorite part about photography is being able to capture things from my point of view and show people that there is beauty in every thing around us.I shot my first wedding in 2006 but didn't go into business until 2009. My goal as a photographer is to shoot from my heart and make every client feel comfortable and beautiful! I love getting to know my clients on a personal level so that I can create images and memories who they are, and not who I think they should be.

I love being a wedding photographer! Spending one of the most important days with my clients and capturing their love for each other is one of the most amazing things to me! I love getting caught up in the moment and being able to capture those moments in images that will be cherished forever.

I started photography as a hobby when I was 15 and grew to love it.  All through high school I was determined on being a professional photographer. After many photo shoots for my friends and family, I was able to have a website made for all my work. In 2009, I decided photography was just a hobby rather than a career. I changed my major at UVU to Deaf Studies, where I studied signed language for 4 years. Then I decided that wasn't for me either. So now I'm settled on Graphic Design and Web Development, with photography still a major hobby. I still take pictures for any one who needs them, just at a very low cost, because I'm not trying to make a living off of it. I don't charge little because I'm not good at what I do, but because honestly I just love doing it, and would like to be paid just a little for my time that would have normally been spent at work. I've recently gotten into creative concepts with my brother Clint, Louish Pixel, and strobism. I still prefer natural light though. Now that I'm 20, Ive decided to start shooting weddings. Ive been very blessed with my talent and the opportunities that have come with it. I feel very special to be featured on All The Photographer's blog! I just love photography and post production! There's not much else to say!

Like many, I've always adored photography and grew up with a point and shoot almost always tucked in my pocket or bag. It just never crossed my mind to learn the techniques or even do it as a part time job. It was one of those things to me, that seemed out of my reach. I was constantly searching through photographer's sites and my husband noticed it. He surprised me with a DSLR for my birthday 3 days after my first son was born and told me it was time for me to be able to learn! Almost a year later, I became intrigued with film photography; the look, process, post-process, etc... and jumped in head first and have been shooting pretty much 100% film since March and have LOVED it. My favorite is the fact that photography in general is a never ending journey of learning and progressing!

Short Bio:

It is an honor to be highlighted on you website, because some of my very favorite photographers have been featured here in the past.  I have loved photography since I was just a little girl, but it wasn’t until I had a family of my own that my opportunities to begin shooting and experimenting with photography became more serious.  Now that my six children are mostly grown, with the youngest being 14, I have more time to pursue things that I really love to do in addition to being a mom, and photography is it!  My family is relieved beyond measure, since I no longer have my camera stuck in their face for every event that they are involved in.  I am able to get my photography fix on other people now!

When I was young, my family did a lot of traveling overseas.  My mother trusted me enough with her camera that I became the designated photographer on many of our trips.  On one occasion, when I was about 9 or 10, a plane we were flying in over Africa was asked to delay landing for some unknown reason.  To pass the time, the pilot flew the plane around the top of Mount Kilimanjaro a couple of times, and my mother handed over the camera for me to start shooting.  I took an entire roll of images through the plane’s window and they came out beautifully.  To this day, one of those photos is enlarged and framed in my parents home.  Ever since that experience, I have always felt like I was capable of taking a pretty good picture!

I enjoy all kinds of photography, but focusing on individuals and couples is my favorite thing to do.  That’s why I love to shoot wedding photography, as well as high school seniors.  They are by far the most fun to be with.  They have to many interesting things to talk about and such big dreams to share.

I have enjoyed creating my business, and am continually trying to learn all that I can to improve my skills.  I prefer not to get locked into one kind of style, but I tend to be drawn to rich and vibrant colors, and I absolutely love a slightly over-processed look to my editing.  If you are ever in Salt Lake City and are looking for a photographer, look me up and let’s go have some fun!

Short Bio - from a friend

Jake has been filled with an insatiable need to create for as long as he can remember, whether it was a drawing, building a fort, or even writing stand-up comedy. The photography bug was planted in the mid-nineties during a simple Introduction to Photography course. The dark room, the camera, the chemicals all screamed out with possibilities and the next year when Layton High School added a computer lab, complete with the extraordinarily advanced Adobe Photoshop (version 2.5) a long term love-affair was set. As photography meandered it’s way into the digital age the format became increasingly custom-tailored to Jake’s love of instant gratification and attention-deficit tendencies.

Purchasing his first digital SLR camera in 2002 began the transformation of photography from a casual hobby into a bit of an obsession.

Jake Garn is a published photographer and international award winning photographer, but photography is not a full-time profession. More of a passionate hobby. Jake Garn is co-owner/operator of Corbin’s Grille, a steak and seafood restaurant just north of Salt Lake City and a marketing consultant for a select group of clients.

A Word From the Photographer:

You can read more about how I got into photography on a post I wrote here:

I keep very busy doing weddings and enjoy doing them a lot.
One of my big passions is in traveling and I'm lucky that weddings take me all over the country.
I take a lot of travel pictures but will need to wait until later down the road to find time to do much with them.

I feel very thankful that I am able to make a good living doing full time the thing I love to do.
I love that it means helping people and providing a valuable service.

I try to make my blog a great place to come and learn things about photography and see what I'm up to in my own photography.

I am a twenty-something wife and mother.  That always comes first. I love art, especially the pre-raphaelite movement (Dicksee, Waterhouse and Leighton are a few favorites), and the "Golden Age of Illustration" (think Arthur Rackham, Kay Nielson and, of course, Maxfield Parrish) and many others.I studied art in high school, earning the Sterling Scholar in art for my school.  I then attended Weber State University on a full tuition art scholarship. After a year of art overload, I quit the art program in favor of my second love, English literature...I love fairy tales.  If WSU had had a folklore major, I might have considered that.  What I would have done with it is another thing entirely...I'd probably still be a photographer.   Who happened to know a lot about folklore. :)

I married my high school sweetheart.  We've been together nearly 10 years, married for 5 (though 2 of those dating years we spent apart while he served a mission to Canada for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  And yes, I wrote him the whole time.)  We have one little boy who is almost 2.  He probably is the most gorgeous being to ever walk the planet.I don't mind looking like a big geek most of the time.  I've embraced it, actually.  Looking cool isn't worth the effort!Last but not least, I love my job.  I grew up drawing princesses and princes and castles, and somehow found a job that lets me work with the closest modern equivalent to that every day. Plus I am a hopeless romantic.  Love moves me.  Intensity, vulnerability, contentment, passion, jubilation, serenity, joy...all things I get to witness every day when I'm shooting these young couples before and on their wedding day.  Can there be anything better? Photography, for me, was an almost accidental offshoot of my art background, but once I picked up that camera, everything fell right into place.I write in my spare time. (When I have spare time!)  Currently I'm working on a novel that may never see the light of day, but I don't really mind.  It makes me happy. :)

Short Bio - Word from the Photographer

Corey started in photography when he took a photography class and was a photog for his senior yearbook in high school. The camera he used then and still uses on occasion now is a Pentax K1000. In fact one of the speedlites he uses in his portable "strobist" outfit is the very strobe used with the Pentax all those years ago.

He joined the U.S.A.F shortly after marrying his wife and traveled between 35 states and lived in four of them. They even had the opportunity to live a just over a year in the United Kingdom. He photographed primarily his surroundings, his wife and family, and was limited only by time and money. After the kids grew to be teens, more money was available and the move from film photography to digital photography was made with the purchase of a Canon 40D.

He originally had vision of capturing primarily motorsports but has found making images of people to be much more satisfying. Now he focuses on families, models, actors/actress, and the events that happen during all of our lives.

I never thought I would be able to make money doing photography.  I took a few classes in High School and fell in love with it.
When I was younger I always thought I would be a nurse.  After working for 3 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant I decided that was definitely not the career for me.

I have lived in Utah my whole life, probably will stay here forever.  I got married in April 2009.  My children have fur, feathers and gills.  I love any type of animal.

I'm currently going to school at Weber State University.  I know I don't need a degree to be a photographer, but having a college education has always been important to me.

Taking pictures of babies and children is my passion.  Little toes, sad cries, sweet smiles, playing, fighting, I love it all.   There is something so precious about a picture of a sleeping baby in black and white.

I have always been a creative person.  I was always interested in art.  I used to do alot of scrapbooking, (alot) and had many friends who admired the pictures in my albums.  One of those friends hired me to do her family pictures, all I had then was my little kodak digital camera and my brain, and it pretty much snowballed from there.  This wasn't something I would have ever thought of doing as a career let alone having my own successful business.  So along the way, I have had to learn (alot of times it was by doing things the wrong way) how to get the effects I wanted.  Gradually got better equipment and try to learn things along the way.  I also make collages with all of my shoots to capture some of the feeling.  turning a few pictures into a work of art.  The best part of being a photographer is all the friends you make along the way.  When I gain a client, they always come back for more, and that trusting relationship goes along way.  Helps me to build the self confidence I need in making this successful business.

If someone would have told me 18 months ago that I would have my own photography business one day I would have laughed!! Here I am and I LOVE it.

I grew up in a Utah. I spent most of my time playing in high school and college playing in some sort of sporting event. I graduated from Utah State University with a BS degree in Business and Info Systems. I became a computer and web programmer. I met my husband during my last semester in college. Since we've been married we lived in France, Montana, Kansas City, Virginia, and now Utah. We have 2 very entertaining children, who are now my full-time job, and take up the majority of my day.

About 18 months ago I pulled out a DSLR camera that was given to my husband before we were married. I dusted it off and started reading the instruction manual for it. At first photography was a technical and creative outlet...something I very much needed as a stay at home mom. It has since evolved into a passion. My favorite part of photography is editing...I'm not kidding. No worries, I like to shoot as well :-) My goal for the next year is to shoot more weddings AND more pictures of my own kids.

I grew up in Layton, Utah and have lived here all of my life.  I love shooting weddings and getting to be involved in such an important part of peoples lives.  Over the years I have met some of the greatest families and couples.

I am a lover of life.  I am grateful to be alive.  I love all types of music and music is a huge part of my life.  I am a lover of mexican food and love spicy foods.

Many of my past clients have become very close friends.  As we work together, I hope we can become good friends too.  If you need anything, let me know, it is my pleasure to help.  If you have questions, ask, I love answering questions.

I met my wife Tiffany in high school.  It was October 3rd, 1998.  We were both going to homecoming dances at different schools with different dates.  She was at a mutual friends house getting ready for her date and another mutual friend was in town and wanted me to come visit.  When I arrived at the house, my friends told me there was a girl inside getting ready and I needed to go and tell her that she looked just like Celine Dion.  So I played along, I walked up the stairs to the bathroom where she was curling her hair.  As I turned the corner, there stood the most beautiful girl I had ever seen in my life.  To this day she still takes my breath away.  I said "Wow, you look just like Celine Dion" and the rest is history.  We had our first date a week later in Park City.  I enjoy spending my life with her by my side and would be nothing without her.  I want to thank her for her support and her friendship.

A bit about me…My name is Samantha (Sam) and my middle name isn’t really Jane. Although I grandmother has called me Samantha Jane for as long as I can remember, I think it was out of spite to my father for not giving me a middle name.

I have an addiction to my iPhone. I love to ski. I tend to be a bit of a dork, although I try to act like I’m not. I am a bit accident prone, some call it endearing, others amusing, but it’s just me.

Photography for me is love, passion and obsession all wrapped up into one. I think of my clients as friends, and treat them as so. I love capturing the little moments, the ones that generally go un-noticed. My style can be described as lifestyle, with a bit of sass and glamour.

Photography has been a beautiful journey for me. When I started booking weddings, it was because I needed something to support this expensive habit of buying cameras and lenses. But the more I did it, the more I enjoyed being there in the moment, seeing things in a way that no one else would. No wedding is the same, and each is an opportunity to push myself artistically. Also, I try to keep commercialization from creeping into my work. I believe that real art involves people and relationships, as well as a lot of time, heart, and hard work. It's a process of giving freely and receiving with open hands. It's always my hope that my images reflect those values.

working, then trying to find myself while being a nanny across the country.  After returning to where I called home, two weeks later I met my sweet husband.  We were inseparable, in a whirlwhind romance, constantly joined at the hip.  Eight months later we were married. Six months after that, we were expecting our first little baby.  After becoming a mommy, it became one of the biggest parts of defining my success.  Longing for the baby pictures that were never taken of me, I started to become obsessive with recording my own babies life.  There grew my love for photograhy and one other way of defining my own success.  Along the years, more children blessed and enriched my life. And each of them helped to nourish, cultivate, and strengthen my desire to learn photography.  I was always told I had an eye when others saw my work.  It encouraged me and I eventually took the plunge and bought my first Digital SLR camera in 2008.  Many friends and family helped me practice by being my subjects.  And many other photographers inspired me all the while deepening my strong urge to pursue this passion. While at first my love for photography was self-serving, I really saw the happiness I brought to others when taking pictures for them.  They say you find pure joy in serving others, that you lose yourself in service and your problems become the least of your worries.  My way to serve others is to help them keep the memories they hold dear to their hearts.  I'm lucky to have found something that is my passion in which not only benefits me, but all those around me as well.

Short Bio: Rich Legg is a commercial photographer based in Draper Utah specializing in Microstock Photography.

After beginning his photography career while in school and continuing it working as a studio portrait photographer during the 1980′s, he stepped away from serious photography for over 10 years.

It was after his successful career working for a large corporation in the 1990′s when the advances in internet technology and digital photography lured Rich back into the world of professional photography. He returned to his roots as a professional photographer in 2005, working full-time creating images for his stock portfolio with iStockphoto.

In March of 2010, Rich marked a milestone in licensing his 100,000th image on iStockphoto. He is ranked in the top 100 worldwide of the thousands of contributing photographers on the site.

Based out of his nearly 1,000 square foot studio in Draper Utah, Rich continues to expand on the thousands of images in his stock photo portfolio.

In addition to the commercial photography work, Rich is a prolific blogger, a founding member of Photowalking Utah and a member of the Professional Photographers of America.
