Many Resources

There are many resources to finding great photography blogs these days.
Even our site, in a way, will be a powerful resource to finding photography blogs.

I think it's nice that we start with our first website review being an article that lists tons of other places to go.
Hoping you'll come back for more... and to read our take on many of these sites.

My Take on the Top 100

As I read through this Article I was impressed with how many sites I recognized on their list.
Which means they did a thorough job at searching through the movers and shakers in the industry.
I'm sure there are many photography blogs that could very well be included in this list that aren't, but it seems that many of the big ones are indeed there.

I do not see the date this article was written but it does seem it isn't a recent article

(as for example the  photofocus.com blog isn't listed but the related blog "This week in Photography" is listed #1 in the "Tips & Learning" section, and when you go to TWIP you are redirected to photofocus. So I guess in the end This Week in Photography isn't listed)

In their list I did see many blogs I've never heard of before such as "A Little news", "State of the Art", "Photo Lovecat" "your photo tips"

Like i mentioned before there were many blogs I recognized for sure.
I searched for and found the inclusion of such blogs as "Strobist", "Nikon Rumors", "The Big Picture"

There seems to be a great amount of photography business related blogs and photography learning blogs.

I was surprised and yet enjoyed that the "Popular" photographer photography blogs were not listed.
It seems they've stayed away, in this particular article, sticking with the more business or organizational blogs.

Organization of the Article

They pretty much get right into listing 100 blogs with a short one sentence description.

But they do have a paragraph explaining the purpose.

"... Some of the best of these resources are blogs, and they highlight gear, techniques, inspiration, and more that can help you learn to be a better photographer. Read on to discover 100 of the best photography blogs out there."

I do not believe that their numbering system is a portrayal of what is best.
I do not know what and how they decided on what was a top photo-blog.
Content, comments, people that use the blog etc...
And perhaps that gives way to some hidden gems... blogs that have great content but aren't well known.

They have divided the blogs into different sections, which I find much more useful than a flat 1,2,3... list of blogs.
SECTIONS

    • General
    • resources
    • news
    • photoblogs
    • photo genres
    • tips & learning
    • photographer profiles
    • gear
    • business
    • projects, movements & communities
    • photoshop

Some of these sections I find to be very intuitive and others less so.
I find it funny that they've listed one small section "Photoblogs" when the essence of the post is to show off the "top 100 photography blogs"
But I do understand their reasoning.

Why this website would be helpful

Going through this list of 100 photography blogs will be very very informative to any aspiring photographer and very inspiring to photographers hard at work.

This article is perfect for a photographer wanting to learn more about photography specially in areas of business where there aren't a lot of websites out there teaching that.
