A word from the Author - Jarvie
One of the more sad events of 2009 for me involves Trent.
He was a keynote speaker at PhotoCamp Utah.
I was prepping a presentation for after his and so I sadly was not able to see the presentation, and it makes me sad.
Everyone talked about it and loved it, so I know I missed something special.
This post focuses on his sports photography which he does a lot of. But of course he does so much more working for the paper.
He's a really neat guy, we get along well.
He's also a guy after my own heart having way too many projects and websites... Just Like ME! haha

And of course Trent does a whole lot more than sports photography for the paper.
Here's a couple of my favorite non-sport Pictures

The best thing about this guy is that he is very dedicated to bringing other photographers up around him. On assignment, he will try and trick you and pull pranks on you constantly and often act shifty for no other reason that just to make you worry, but besides being a scheister, he has helped many photographers in this area become better and get in contact with the people and resources needed to succeed. The first football game I ever shot for the paper, my camera broke five minutes before kickoff, luckily he had an extra nikon body (no idea why, he shot Canon at the time) in his bag and let me use it. I was a stringer back then and would have been so embarrassed to come back to the paper with nothing. He really saved me, not to mention while working for the competing paper. I’m glad you featured him.

I echo Mike Terry’s comments. Trent is a unique person. He is so full of ideas, energy and creativity, but mostly because he is decent human being. You couldn’t have chosen a better photographer to feature!!!

He probably doesn’t remember but I met Trent one time in 2002 at the Olympic Torch Relay. He was very nice and treated me like an equal even though I was working for a student run newspaper. A very classy guy and a great photographer.
